The social life of ants

Written by the German zoologist Wilhelm Goetsch, 1887-1960. A very educational book, easy to read. It is a classic of myrmecology. One of the aspects to which the author dedicates many of his reflections throughout the book is to demystify the logical and consistent social organization of ants.
