Update on biology and control of synanthropic rats

Based on that initial work, Biology and control of synanthropic rats, this publication expands and updates the content of the main topics developed on that occasion, deepening the understanding of the biological attributes and behavioral patterns of these species, and inducing the strengthening of the conceptual matrix of fight strategies.

It is a book of 571 pages and almost 300 photographs and allusive illustrations, which covers a large number of topics and invites the reader to go through it from beginning to end. Author: Héctor Coto. Publisher: Gestal Group. Spanish. Year: 2007. Argentina.

Urban and domestic pest control manual

The Council of Agricultural, Agro-Food and Agro-Industry Professionals (CPIA) has published what to date is one of the most complete publications in the pest control sector. It brings together a compendium of updated information on household health products and a user and instruction manual on urban pest control.

It is reference material for professionals, owners of service companies, application technicians, operators, application authorities and related officials from municipal, provincial or national entities. This 265-page manual with images, graphs and allusive tables is on par with, and even surpasses, many international publications. CPIA. Spanish. Year: 2015. Argentina.

Pests and their significance for public health

The WHO Regional Office for Europe presents the conclusions and new strategies for the future of pest management and diseases related to their presence. It is a reference for health authorities on the harmful effects of applied pesticides, the risks and consequences of not applying them and the need for preventive policies in the treatment of urban pests, always under the prism of integrated management.

It can be consulted online at www. euro. who. int or in summary in Spanish from www. urbanpestsbook. com. Authors: Xavier Bonnefoy, Helge Kampen and Kevin Sweeney. Euro Nonserial Publication. Language: English. Year: 2008. Denmark.

Alexander Wild Photography

Most chase them to control them; too few to appreciate its beauty. This is the case of Alexander Wild, a Texas biologist, who began photographing insects in 2002 as an aesthetic complement to his scientific work on ant taxonomy and evolution.

Wild has released a number of images into the public domain that can be used in any context, including commercial, without prior permission. His professional site can be found at alexanderwild. com.

National Pesticide Information Center

On this site you can access detailed information on the identification of pests, their control, the use of pesticides and integrated management in a clear and precise manner, and in Spanish.

At the same time, it has direct links to fact sheets, videos, web applications, podcasts, dissemination material, NPIC professional resources and its social networks. It can be consulted at npic.orst.edu/pest/index.es.html.
