Editorial: fifth edition of Latam Plagas
Editorial presentation, with the axes, context and technical perspective that guide this issue of Latam Plagas.
Professional management of urban pests is an extremely complex activity that requires being carried out by specialized people. Like many professions or trades, daily activity and the level of exposure to various experiences related to the subject are priorities and essential to acquire a higher level of knowledge and professional training.
The various courses, diplomas, workshops, training and even tertiary or university degree courses provide the general and elementary bases to be able to carry out an activity solidly. This knowledge, theoretical and occasionally practical, must be amalgamated and enriched with the activity carried out in the field of action. Good academic training and a high level of real experiences allow you to develop a specific activity with suitability and effectiveness.
Recipes are unviable in the search for solutions related to pest management in different environments. We cannot control a pest in the same way in different places, not even in the same place once an integrated pest management program is established. Infested environments, pests, people and climatic conditions are all components of a dynamic ecosystem, which imply permanent adaptation and evolution of knowledge to be able to adapt and respond efficiently in the control of pest organisms.
Our function, as a magazine specialized in pest management in Latin America, is to provide permanent support and contributions to the evolution of this knowledge. For this reason we have committed to convening the main leaders in the region on the subject and to disseminate all strategies and innovations related to our industry.
We take this opportunity to share with you, with great pride, the launch of LATAMPLAGAS in Portuguese for this fifth edition. Through a great effort made by APRAG, Brazilian Association of Pest Control Companies, our magazine will begin to be distributed in Brazil starting in May.
