On June 6, the second edition of World Pest Day, INTERNATIONAL PEST CONTROL DAY, was celebrated with the purpose of raising awareness about the importance of this activity for Public Health worldwide. On this occasion, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) joined forces with the Asia-Pest Control Association of Asia and Oceania (FAOPMA), the Chinese Pest Control Association (CPCA) and the Confederation of European Pest Control Associations (CEPA), to support this celebration. Together they organized a campaign on Thunderclap where professionals in the sector around the world could express and share support for World Pest Day on social networks, through a common message. This year's celebration took place within the framework of

the World Summit of Pest Control Services in Lisbon, Portugal, during June 4, 5 and 6. “World Pest Management Day” was established in Brussels, Belgium, on June 6, 2017, where the Confederation of European Pest Control Associations (CEPA) joined forces with FAOPMA (Australasia) and NPMA (USA) to raise awareness among citizens around the world of the important work that the professional pest management sector performs, protecting public health and maintaining citizens, homes, schools, recreational areas, food manufacturers, retail businesses and others, safe and free from pests and diseases. At this meeting it was established that pest control is an essential aspect in today's society, since common household pests, such as woodworm larvae (woodworm), termites and insects, can cause costly damage to properties, while other pests, such as rodents, cockroaches and flies are a risk to food safety. Bed bugs, mosquitoes and ticks pose a significant threat to human health due to the transmission of diseases. Every day, the

Pest control professionals work to protect people and property from potential disease and damage caused by pests. From LATAMPLAGAS La Revista we continue to disseminate new tools, strategies and knowledge, necessary to develop this activity with greater precision and professionalism in pursuit of Public Health.
