THE ASSOCIATION, ANOTHER TOOL IN THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

Since the challenge/threat of the hanta virus was presented to us in Chile and our region being part of the list of positive records of high contagion, several professionals in the field of pest control recognized the need to become an institution whose mission is to promote the continuous improvement of pest control work in all its modalities; promoting the rationalization, development, promotion, protection, as well as the strengthening of the pest market, twinned with the defense of the environment with criteria based on ecological principles. In our first meetings, in response to calls from health authorities and commercial companies (who deserve our recognition for their constant technological support), we noticed the fruitfulness of working together in the transfer of knowledge and techniques. The exchange of experiences, the search for success in standardization and

Implementation of integrated pest management, and the generation of training based on our concerns and shortcomings, resulted in excellent cooperation work. This promoted the association of the first 9 founding members, forming and formalizing CORECPLA in January 2015. Those professionals who shared the same vision and commitment to professionalization, today continue to motivate the new incorporated partners. CORECPLA partners develop different types of health control activities, but in general they are

addressed in all areas: home, institutions and industries, in their problems of rodents, pigeons, bats, seagulls, sparrows, microorganisms, termites, grain pests, flies, various insects, etc. The association supports large and small projects. Since the year we were established as an institution we have had a very intense journey in terms of training, technological, regional, national and international tours, also successfully holding our First International Pest Control Congress in the city of Pucón in October 2015.

of which we are preparing its second version also in the Araucanía region. Today we are in Mexico, at the 34th International Congress of Urban Pest Management Professionals, the next time we will be in another part of the world where we are interested in learning about other technologies and other practices, making new networks of contacts, learning about the behavior and evolution of traditional pests and the development of new pests in the world, visualizing strategies for the control of new pest species in our country and mainly our region.
